Lute FP So here’s a complete surprise. The Hu band came across my radar (awesome band, see my review), so I decided to check out what else is happening in Mongolia. This was the first on the list BC fed me, and looking at the album art I assumed it would be something silly.

Well, it is the exact opposite. This is lush folk-rock with a pop sensibility, recalling brooding crooners like Lee Hazelwood, Leonard Cohen, etc. Excellent songwriting and production, this album could have been made anywhere at any time.

Banquet 05:36
LYRICS: I don't wanna know, I don't wanna know what they know I want you standing here I don't give a damn, I don't give a damn where I am I got my head right here I don't really think, I don't really think you see me So I'll just take my time Find a place to sit, find a place to sit and stutter I'm wasted and unclear Take it upstairs to the party love Where I know you will wear The ribbons that you love And I know you don't care For the banquet love Let's fuck all the bands And go dancing love No one really knows, no one really knows your name dear You keep on changing it I could never tell, I could never tell the time when You're staring through my head Take it upstairs to the party love Where I know you will wear The ribbons that you love And I know you don't care For the banquet love Let's fuck all the bands And go dancing love I wanna know all that you know I wanna feel all that you feel I wanna do all that you've done I wanna see all that you've seen
2.
Etiquette 03:33
LYRICS: I know that you were gone before you left Wouldn't say where you would go So I could know Say you'll stay home and feed the cat Never let go of the TV set I don't know what part I'd play in your favourite film Everything you say is true as far as I can tell I don't really know too much about etiquette Come and waste some time with me before you go to bed Tie your hair and sit all night with nothing on Pray to god that you're all right But you're insane Say you'll stay home and feed the cat Never let go of the TV set I don't know what part I'd play In your favourite film Everything you say is true as far as I can tell I don't really know too much about etiquette Come and waste some time with me before you go to bed
3.
LYRICS: Well I'm going to sleep for the last time for the first time You know I'm through I want you to notice you to know this but you won't have a clue I wish that you knew me So we could be Like drums on a roll And all of my family will regret me and forget me too
4.
Famous Men 03:55
LYRICS: Well I know you're tired dear So I'll shut the door and leave Pour a glass of wet champagne Pour it on the TV screen Put your dresses in a row Pick the blond with a blue bow In a city I don't know In a city I don't grow Don't rely on famous men Only live in common dens Let me lay on Lila's bed You were wrong and I was right But you still put up a fight Well I know you're tired dear So I'll shut the door and leave Don't rely on famous men Only live in common dens Let me lay on Lila's bed
5.
LYRICS: You will want to know where I am now you know my dear I was in the cherry tree when mother said to me "You are only seventeen, you don't know what it means" So I climbed down and picked the cherries that fell to the ground I can't carry it alone So I'll bury it like bones You are only seventeen you don't know what to fear All we know is what we have to hold and call my dear I will want to know where you are if you're far or near I don't know how loud I'll have to sing for you to hear If I can't marry you I'll go On my chariot of gold There is only this I know I will die before I'm old
6.
LYRICS: I will see that you are only mine I will see that you are always kind I will see that you are only kind I will see that you are always mine
